Borescope camera surveys to assess your cavity wall condition and existing insulation. Written reports suitable for insurance claims, property purchases and installer complaints.
A cavity wall survey gives you a definitive picture of what is inside your cavity wall — whether you're concerned about existing insulation, buying a property, or planning a new installation. It removes guesswork and provides documented evidence of cavity condition.
We carry out two types of cavity wall survey:
For properties with existing cavity wall insulation where you suspect problems — damp, cold spots, mould. Confirms whether insulation has failed, is wet or saturated, and whether extraction is needed.
For properties without insulation, confirming the cavity is clear, clean and suitable for filling. Identifies any obstructions, debris or structural issues before work starts.
A small camera probe is inserted through access holes to directly inspect the cavity. We inspect at multiple points for a thorough assessment.
A detailed written report documenting cavity condition, insulation type and state, photographs from the inspection, and clear recommendations.
We advise on what the survey shows — whether insulation can remain, needs remedial work or should be extracted. No obligation to proceed with further work.
Small holes drilled in mortar joints — typically 3–5 holes per elevation, depending on property size. Minimally invasive and repointed at the end.
Borescope camera inserted to inspect the cavity at multiple points. Findings photographed and recorded.
Written report with photographs issued after the survey. This report can be used for insurance claims, CIGA complaints or property transactions.
All access holes are repointed and sealed. The external appearance of the property is restored.
The access holes are small and are drilled in mortar joints rather than through bricks where possible. They are filled and repointed after the survey. From a normal viewing distance the holes are not visible once sealed.
Yes. Our reports include photographic evidence, cavity condition assessment and a professional assessment of the insulation state. This is the documentation insurers and claims handlers typically require.
No. A survey is a separate service with no obligation to proceed with further work. You may want the report for insurance or legal purposes only. If you do want extraction, we can quote for this separately.
